"What were you doing on 9-11?"

For most, this is a day in history that we will never forget. In addition to the 2,973 people that were killed, between 250,000-400,000 were affected in New York on that infamous day. Now many of the 35,000-50,000 rescue workers who served at Ground Zero are sick from the highly toxic & corrosive dust released into the air.

• Toxins such as lead, asbestos, PCBs, PAHs, dioxin, benzene, mercury, jet fuel and more created a highly alkaline atmosphere.
• Diseases and health symptoms that thousands are experiencing include asthma, decreased lung capacity, World Trade Center cough, acid reflux, skin rashes, headaches, cancer, emotional problems and more.
• Workers endured extreme traumatic experiences, including handling nearly 20,000 human body parts. Now thousands of people suffer from post traumatic stress disorder and other related emotional issues.
• A medical analysis of firefighters last year found the FDNY rescuers who inhaled toxic air at Ground Zero lost the equivalent of 12 years of lung function.
• Many workers with respiratory problems, initially treated for infection, found that their illness was a result of chemical burns in their lungs.
